1966 CL77 shifter

Does anyone know if the type of shifter in this picture was correct for any year CL77? This is currently on a 1966 model and from what I've seen it should have the all metal lever that resembles the brake lever. Can anyone confirm this?

What you have pictured is not correct. I have a photo below of what you need.

HT, thanks for the info. I am going to try to find a used one in nice condition. If anyone here has a spare for sale let me know.
