Honda Dream CA77 305 Points and Timing Walk-Through
I finally got a chance to work on the bike again. Taking down the motor was a very educational endeavor and I am happy to say that the harbour freight motorcycle jack allowed me to lower the motor with confidence.
But back to the problem at hand...
It looks like the cam chain may be set correctly after all. The indicator edge dorsnt quite line up perfectly horizontal but it looks very close and I doubt that shifting over a tooth will correct it.
So here are my guesses as to what may be the problem:
1) points rubbing arm is worn down and needs to be replaced
2) points are incorrect. Currently they are the Denso type, possibly need to swap them for Kokusan type.
3) cam chain is stretched or incorrect.
4) problem with advancer
Photos to follow shortly

Success!
After quite a bit of fiddling and replacing my points, my timing is finally spot on!
My cam is still slightly off angle but things seem to be working smoothly.
Thanks to Paperslammer for this thread and Nick and Loud Mouse for the help!!!!
