I know this been re-hashed a thousand times...but...
Took the bike out for it's first run in probably 20 years...
Ran it up and down the street a few times...came back into the garage to adjust the idle and -bleh- it stalled out...
Checked all the usual suspects...fuel (yep)....battery (12+v)....12v to points (yep)....
I did the old "remove the boot and stick a screw in the wire and hold it 1/4" from the cylinder head" trick...nothin'...
I took some 220 paper and cleaned up the point contact then polished it with some 600...
She ran for about a minute...while it was running I noticed that the points were "sparking" quite a bit...and actually spitting out tiny sparks...
It shut down again and now...no spark...
Anything else I should check or should I just pony up for some new points ? maybe electronic ignition ?
Thanks, Dan
Lost spark..

After you used the 600 grit did you spray the point contacts then pull a business card through them?

It's been an hour or so....I went back out and 600 polished them again...hit 'em with some Bra-Kleen and this time I "did" run a business card through...
And it fired up.
I don't have any more time today to ride it so It'll have to wait until tomorrow or the weekend before I can test it out.
I hope it's not the condenser...that thing is mounted in a crazy spot :O
Thanks again !
Dan
