what year for early cl77

picked up a new basket case cl-77.has chopped up wiring harness but still had white tag marked 1964.serial number is 1009901.can i call this a 64 or is it a 65.

It's a 1965 by the numbers. The CL77 didn't come to market until 1965.

I have 1000040 and that's registered as 1965
