During the restore process of the fuel tank, we found that the previous owner had put Bondo in the holes where the tank badges go :(
After clearing this out we found that the metal bar that runs through the middle of each hole that the screws go in for the badges are broken off, so i have no way of screwing the new badges in place.
My question is, what would be a good way to secure these new badges to the tank?
-I have had people tell me double sided tape (same stuff used to mount car hood emblems)
-Use some sort of epoxy, or something that can fill in the entire hole to get a better grip on the emblem
Any suggestions are welcome
Thanks

tank badges
I was once stuck with this difficulty myself. To my good fortune I had a tank that had rusted out on the bottom and had the clips still there. I cut the clips out of the tank and brazed them onto the other tank.
If I had not saved that old tank, I would have searched ebay and this forum for a donor tank. Likely as not someone here has an old one they don't need for a reasonable price. Hope this helps you, good luck. Rusty
