CB77 starter motor gearhead gap
On the starter motor on my '66 CB77, there's about a 0.2 to 0.3 mm gap between the castings where the gearhead bolts to the motor. See photo below. I removed the gearhead and did not see anything out of place. Is this normal? Should it be caulked or gasketed?

Re: CB77 starter motor gearhead gap
HONDA did install a very thin gasket (1/32) there to as I suppose to stop grease liquid from coming out.
I use a thin rubber band (THIN) there when I rebuild the starter. ................lm
