Gentlemen (& ladies)
I've only run the CB77 for 1/2 hour or so since the resto, & have no intention of using it, its running before I let go of the button, no leaks, no smoke, so it can't be THAT far off,
BUT, I ran it round the block, up & down the gears OK, but in top gear, if I open up the throttle, it seems to 'bog-down' there's a sort of induction roar but no go.
If I rev it on the stand, & wind her up, again, a big induction roar, hesitation then it gets past that & wacks right up to around 9000.
ALL new jets fitted, needle on centre notch, do you think I should be looking a timing or needle adjustment??
Also, its 'clattery' upstairs, checked the valve gaps, all at .0004", I seem to remember that in the early 60s, these were very quiet engines.
Again, it starts instantly & ticks over at around 800 rpm or so & picks up fine.

All new jets-set from e-bay, can't remember what or who though, but the numbers checked out OK with the specs in the manual.
The ignition was only set up via a 12v bulb, never thought about the strobe!
The one I have simply plugs between the plug & the cap, (not the points) will that do??
It strobes OK, so what markings should it flash on?

Those jets and more likely the needles are often not the correct spec. For the strobe, just hook up and point at the rotor. F mark with the extra set of marks for full advance as the engine speeds up.
Probably the needle, main jet or fully-advanced timing is the problem if it doesn't pick up well.
