I have the '63 CL72 domestic type 2 with these features. Unlike the CL300 it's identified as a CL72-63-341xxx. Mine has turn signals, heal-toe shift lever, kph speedo, park light in the headlight. Been a while since I've looked at product codes for these but seem to recall some CL72 I, CL72 II, and CL72 III associated with the different codes.LOUD MOUSE wrote: The CL250 bikes I've seen up close were pretty much the CL72 we received and with normal for the period slide carbs, non folding foot pegs and I can't recall if they had turn signals.
Not sure but I think they did. ............................lm

olebmw, just want to clear up one more item. I'm attaching two pictures, one of a power jet PW22 carb and the other is PW22 non power jet. Does yours have the brass jet like the top photo (IMG_0499.JPG) or undrilled like the bottom photo(IMG_0500.JPG)?olebmw wrote:This bike has the round bowl carbs, like the ones pictured. I will check closer for #s. It appears to have been set up for dirt use ,so may be some things changed. I see the difference in the intake tubes...flat vs. round clamps. thanks for the help.

I found after this thread started I had sold my other round bowl carb so have to go by recall.
I have a drawer full of the power jet carbs. CB72
I also have several CL72 with no power jet and stamped CL72 A.
My one NOS round bowl power jet has no identifier on the mount flange as to CB72/CL72 but there is 3, 1/16 inch letters of which I can read one and it a (p) and PW22HOV is on the top right of the slide area under the KEI*HIN logo rather than PW22 on the right side near the mount hole..
This carb has a vent hole on the right side rather than that small brass tube you have.
All said with this carb it is for a CB72 engine from what I can tell.
It does have a choke lever for 2 carbs.
This carb could very well be After Production carb. .............lm

Here's a pic of the top of the flange (non power jet carb), no CL72 stamped just some random letters stamped on the flange. I no longer have any PW22 power jet round bowl carbs. The PJ carb in my last post is a square bowl.

In my experience those little letters are on carbs I can identify as for CB engines.
The CL carbs have CL stamped there.
I saw the square bowl in the pic. ......lm

Have you ever seen a CB72 that had non power jet carbs? It will be interesting to hear whether or not olebmw's carbs have a power jet. If not some pics of his to compare with the set I have here.LOUD MOUSE wrote:In my experience those little letters are on carbs I can identify as for CB engines.
