Doesn't look like any CL77 forks I've seen........Are you working on a CL77 or a CB77??

The chrome is slip on not thread on. A rubber loop wrench (with part clean and dry) may be able to grip the chrome and twist a bit but don't grip the area that has the top of the slider in it cause that will squeeze the part and ya can't move it then. Under the chrome part is a "C" clip and when removed ya can then do the vise seal removal. ..................lm
