C77 piston on CB77 motor

I recently bought what was supposed to be a CB77 piston on ebay. The part number in the ad matched one of the numbers in the official parts book. When I received the piston, the same part number was handwritten on the box, but "C77" was cast into the piston, and the top of the piston was not relieved around the edge the way the CB77 piston is.

Is it o.k. to use one CB77 piston and one C77 piston in the same engine?

No. It's a balance thing.

The edge relief on the CB77 piston matches the head. The C77 head does not have this.

I think that the CB77 piston will 'work' with the C77 head but not vice-versa.

Not advisable as there is a difference in compression.
The DREAM piston will have more compression than the CL/CB77 piston when installed in the CB/CL77 engine. .......................lm
