Hi Steverino, yes, the nipples should directly line up with the appropriate spokes. If you have 160 drilled rims the nipples will be angled more toward the axle. On a proper CB72/77 rim they will be more inclined to the rim, aiming them away from the axle. You can sometimes eyeball the margin on the dimple between the hole and the adjacent rim surface. The CB will be thinner than the 160. If you have a stock CB77 rim and a CB160 rim to compare, you can get a better idea of what to look for. Chase
Just found some figures from a couple of years ago. The spoke angle is basically measured between two lines. One line drawn from the center of the wheel to the point where the spoke nipple intersects with the rim. The other line is drawn through that spoke. A CB160 spoke angle is 22 degrees, the CB72/77 is 41 degrees. Substantial difference. Regards, Chase

Good advice on the rims.......Good re-chrome may cost as much as new alloy from Buchannon.
G-Man.........NICE SHINE.............You probably know this...........I always use a set of old 'take-off' pipes to tune a new build............sometimes for several hundred miles. The new $$$ goes on when its SHOW TIME.

Saving chrome pipes.
Upon initial startups on test stand with old pipes I get the timing dialed in and let rings brake in. Then I ceramic coat interior of replated pipes for final assembly this is good for zero discoloration.
