Starter assembly
Starter assembly
My bike tries to start when I try to put my clamps on when I have the key on while putting the throttle together. Any ideas? Is there a trick to starter button or have I got a short in my wire? Could I have wired it up wrong?

Re: Starter assembly
The button when pushed touches a part inside the assembly.
You have a contact with the metal with the end of the wire. ............lm

So are you saying I have a wire touching somewhere else?

Just had a thought. The wire must loop under in the groove in the bottom of the Thin board it is on. You know, the " u" in the bottom.

Yep.
Ya can measure from the headlight end of the green/red wire for a short to the bars at the switch end. .....lm

There was one, one, just one single stray strand of wire outstanding inside the switch and that was what was doing it. All I had to do was put my glasses on!! Thanks to everybody!
