Changing throttle cable

Hey guys I am new here and need some help. I am restoring a 1965 CA77 dream. I am wanting to install a new throttle cable, but the bike has an internal throttle twist grip thing, and I do not know how to remove it. The manual I have does not cover, so I am at a loss. Can someone tell me how to change the cable?

Hi,

Welcome to the forum., are you also active on the www.hondatwins.net ?
To replace the cable you have to disassemble the switchgear which holds the throttle grip.

Yes I do follow that forum some, but there is not really any activity on the Dream section, so I thought I would ask here. I have changed the cables on other Dreams, but they had the external throttle. Thanks, I will start taking the switch gear apart.

When you take the switch apart be very careful. There is a little flat spring in there that applies pressure to the throttle tube. It will fall right out and will be hard to find. The voice of experience speaking...

Well I got it apart. "Conbs" I'm not sure what spring you are referring to. I never saw one, so it might be lost to the black hole I call my shop floor.
I now have another problem, it is finding replacement M5 screws with the ".9" pitch.
