Well Vince you are right about not cheap - a $2800 upgrade! It does look really nice though, and I certainly can see how it would improve the experience. Both the SuperHawk and the Black Bomber suffer from gearbox inadequacy. I haven't gone to the pages on your rebuild history (I went through many pages one saturday a year ago, I need to get all the way through!), but I know how events and desire can propel these things. I recently started blasphemous things with my Bomber, putting on electronic ignition, Dyna coils and 30mm Mikuni carbs on it - it was transformed as far as starting, smoothness and pulling from lower revs - now if I can find a 5 speed for that!
Given that I'm probably at my limit for bikes and their expenses with my in house accountant, I'll probably have to forgo the NOVA for now, until I get the cylinders back from Bore Tech and experience the same conclusion you came to. I've got some time, and after my recent Dream transmission overhaul, I've lost my fear of the transmission!

The way I read it is made by Nova to his design, he has used road ratios the Nova one was always designed to be a Race set up, he also doesn't mention no kick start.

This fellow (username Matain) was on this forum briefly a while back -- I think his name was Matt and he was from Herts. If you search for 'Honda 5 Speed CB72/77' the thread should come up. He does mention in this particular thread about the loss of the kickstart feature (though he may not on his website). It is the same transmission as the 'road' version that NOVA sells directly.
