I'm putting back together a '65 CL72.
I put new races in it, made sure the bottom washer and seal were on.
But, there is a healthy gap between the handlebar bridge and the nut below (dust seal that holds the balls in). I did notice that when I get the triple tree snug, but movable, that I can see some threads above the dust seal. I'm not sure if maybe I beat the lower bearing cup down too low?
I was starting to think maybe I have my fork tubes too high? Any ideas?

If you have a parts book you may want to be certain all the parts are installed. .....lm
