Points Plate Screws

Post by sibes67 » Fri Nov 09, 2012 5:39 pm

These are listed as 5 mm I believe, what is best and quickest way to get a couple of new ones? Finally got the top one out, but the philips head is pretty well shot now. Thanks.

Screws found

Post by sibes67 » Tue Nov 13, 2012 4:07 pm

found them in the metric section at a True Value Hardware store, good on that.

one problem remains > keep stripping top screw on right side breaker points, couple threads are chewed down after loosening once, then re-tightening...

wonder if I should try to find a new breaker plate?

are 2 washers required on each contact breaker screw? Thanks for any input.

If the screw you use is too long it will hit the head and strip. .......lm
