Clutch Help

Post by Raceman » Wed Dec 19, 2012 9:18 am

I am rebuilding the engine in my CL77. It has an early-#1709 engine in it. What is the conventional wisdom on clutch parts? I am planning on using the later style 020, 5 friction disc setup. Are Barnett discs OK or should I use Honda or another source. Is it ok to reuse the springs providing they are proper length, replace. If replaced, what should I use? Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this issue.

I have a '65 that I'm using the Barnett's in. The clutch was originally added in 1966 and has a spacer plate that takes the place of one of the friction and drive plates, but I think that they will work fine for your engine. Mine has a 65mm bore and a roller cam and the clutch has held up fine. I'm also using the stock springs.
