Parts manual
1281, Look in your parts manual and compare your frame number with the listing for whatever part you need. The manual will tell you which battery you need - by your frame number (which I believe should be the early one).
Saw your other post re: "year" of your bike. Your bike is a '65 as LM said, but you won't find parts listed by "model year". Back then bikes were titled in the year they were sold. Yours was apparently built at Honda in 1965 but, not sold by the dealer in the US until 1966. Hence your title says 1966. Forget what you are used to thinking about US manufactured vehicles. It doesn't apply to these bikes. All you need is your engine number or frame number and a parts manual to (usually) find the parts you need. The folks on this site will be a big help as well.

Early battery
If your battery starts to get weak, try de-sulfating it. I was told that the lead and acid in a battery should be sufficient to last over 20 years. When sulfate crystals form it makes for a weak battery. Some newer chargers will have a "De-sulfate" function. If I understand correctly it puts some kind of frequency through the cells that breaks up the sulfate crystals.
I bought a JB-2 which was dry when I received it. I added acid and charged like you are supposed to, but after about a year it started getting weak. I tried the de-sulfate function on my charger and sure enough, the battery came right back to life and is going strong.
There is a guy here locally that pays $10 for old batteries. He de-sulfates them and sells them with a warranty. If he cant get them revived, he is only out a little time and get the $10 back as a core charge.
Anyone else ever tried this?
