I've just bought a nice low mileage CB77 and have just taken it for MOT. It started and ran well but out on the road it struggled to get past 6500 rpm although I wasn't pushing it so hard.
I live down in the South of the UK and don't know the bikes that well but I'd like to get it checked over by somebody with better skills on them than I have. Does anybody know any mechanics who are good on these bikes in this area.

It's OK, I found a gem of a bloke who ground in the valves, freed up one gummed ring and tightened the cam chain and it goes like a train now.

Does a motorcycle of this age have to pass emission testing in UK. Its state by state in the USA not sure if there is a vintage catagory that will exempt emission testing.

You got my curiosity up, are there actually states that require emission testing on bikes? I'm in California which doesn't require it. I always thought no place was more restrictive.
