A cure for sticky slides?

I went to Lowes and picked up these springs, which are the same diameter, but a bit longer.

Put them in my CB77 and my slides are much less sticky.

The throttle pull is a little heavier, but when I let go, I am sure the slides are down all the way.

The new ones are outside, old inside.

Maybe a bad idea, or maybe a fix for someone out there.

Chances are the originals were that length at one time. Pretty close match considering. I gave mine a little stretch to help the throttle snap back nice and quick. They definately get relaxed setting around for forty years.
