If I were to build a tooling fixture,
To repair shift forks to blueprint specs would you have intrest.
I can not answer cost ?'s yet.
Of course the more the marrier.

I'd be interested. I have the engine apart right now. Don't know for how much longer. Gonna take a peek at my shift forks though.

I'm back with the motor now on the bench (off season for service )Lets me work on my toys.
My plan still includes making new shift forks.
Using my CNC machine I will bump reference my way around the main shape of the part while building a fixture for the finishing details.This fixture should also allow holding forks for reconditioning.
My plan includes A chrome moly type of stock 4130/4140.or P20 prehard.
This prehardend material should provide superior toughness without requiring any heat treatment.Much stronger than any cast part.
I will look into surface hardening of the fork ends.
Once the ball gets rolling I'll post some photo's.

well seems I'm all talk.
After taking my motor apart there seems to be nothing wrong with my shift forks as they speck the same as a second set I acquired.
My bike was very long throw and stubborn between first and second yet I've found nothing to fix.
I spent some time making new bushings and such tightening up the linkage to no avail.
What am I looking for here??? this shifting issue must have some history.
Please offer any input.
