Tank Cleaner

Post by pwilke1 » Mon Aug 01, 2011 2:23 pm

I recently stripped my bike and repainted. While putting things back together, I see I somehow let a small amount of over spray find it's way inside my gas tank. Before I pick up a tank restore kit - any thoughts on if I can clean it out with paint thinner? I have no rust, damage, ect - just a bit of paint.

I've had some luck with compressed air, blasting off overspray. Also depending on what kind of paint you used, carb cleaner can work well (get the good stuff).
