Hi gang. I'm about to install the clutch cable but the female threads in the "clutch cable joint" (the little piece that fits into the right case top) has a weird 7mm thread while the adjuster bolt (and lock nut) are 8x1.25mm.
I know I'm missing something, but I've run out of parts. Should I just re-tap it and call it a day?

Bueller? Bueller? .......... <crickets>
ok, here's the pic. maybe this will help
The only thing I can think of is that this ain't a clutch cable and that it was with the bike just because. The cable has a metal mounting tab thingie (with an 8mm hole) which is not shown in the pic. The mounting tab is free to slide along the cable.

Thx Davo ... was trying to get the bike ready for tomorrow's VJMC ride but just got an e-mail from my Asian seat vendor saying the seat was returned to him for some "unknown" reason. He will re-ship today, so I'm putting in a call to Retro. They rock on shipping and prices.

HA! I guessed correctly. The cable that came with the bike (the one in the pic) belongs to some other bike. I just got my new one from Retro in the mail, and it has the proper threads.
Silly me though ... I forgot to measure and I received the cable for low bars ... too short.
I just ordered the mid-rise bar cable from Western Hills.
Anyone need a brand new low bar clutch cable? My cost plus shipping I guess.
