it says to loosen the bolt on the engine and re tighten and an automatic plunger system will pick up the slack, but when i electric start my superhawk i can here the cam chain smacking around when its trying to fire up. it sounds awful. how can i get this chain slackless !!!!!!

They are all the same length when new and are rather loose also.
Ya could install washers between the starter and the 4 bolts. .......lm

I tried doing that one time, and then the aluminum starter cover won't go back on as it messes up the alignment of the screw holes.

okay LM. im back again about the smoke. my right side is def. not firing despite new splugs and i striped the wire doen and screwed the plug boot onto less worn wire. everything is set the the right adjustments. the smoke is coming from my engine internally from what i can see. it smokes immediately if it is warmed. is this a blown ring? i took my muffler off and noticed oil seeping out around end of muffler. how much does this cost to replace? i was contemplating an entire engine rebuild cause i doubt this engines gaskets have ever been replaced. yet is has less than 6000 miles on it. what would be the smartest direction to go?
