Have you asked about whether or not the engines are seized?

That will have an effect on the value of the bikes and how much work you'll have.

So when I went back I spent alot more time looking at the bike because I was not trespassing. Basically everything chrome has some pitting and needs some work. The bike does seem to have all the side panels, horn, etc. All of its seals appear to be weeping but not leaking. The paint is so-so with several chips that would make me want to paint it again. It has already been repainted once. I didn't see any leak in the tank but there was a 1/8 rusty ring where the petcock is. Petcock won't move, key move reluctantly.

Def. appears to be more work than I had anticipated. The bike kicks over well with no strange noises and felt like compression was OK. He states he rode the bike last summer as in 2009.

He was asking $1300. After looking closer and seeing all the chrome work and complete gasket set replacement I'm starting to think $750. He says $1300 is his wifes price but he is open to offers.

What say you guys, whats fair for this?
