air filter metal painted cover mount?

Does anyone know how the air filter frame cover is held on? I am talking about the metal cover that has the small hole in the lower corner that the battery wire goes through. It is about six inches in diameter and it covers the side of the frame after the air filter is in place and is painted to match the color of the bike.
The dream I purchased just had it duck taped on which I don't believe is correct any help would be great.

It should have a plastic knob with a 6mm stud that goes through the cover, and into a hole in the frame.

Davo,I think he means the air filter access cover.

From what I can tell the pressure from battery placed up against it holds it in place (barely).

It is the air filter access cover and that makes since having the battery hod it in place.

On a DREAM there is a flat sort of cover which is held in place with a cross screw, 5x25 and screws into the left side of the air filter. ......lm
