This is a reply I got from DSS this am in response to a email I sent last night about this bike, so I guess it is the real deal and #15 in the production. :P
This response was from Tim Whiting at David Silver Spares

Ah, not enough coffee in the system yet this morning. I see further in my notes that with the first four years of the CB77's the first digit of the serial number corresponded to year. That would make yours a 1961 and thus first year of production. I'm confused however about the six digit serial number. I know I've seen 5 digit bikes before and upon searching the forum I see people posing questions about 5 digit bikes. Maybe Honda's numbering system wasn't set in stone that early in the game.
Interesting find.

Before anyone gets too excited, let's see what it really is. Can you post a picture of the front and rear brakes and the top of the transmission where the steel cover is? That would help a little to zero in on the year of production.
The numbers appear to indicate an early model, and if that is correct, then it will have a few parts that are different to most later builds

1964 CB77E 400001 - 403838 and CB77E 100001 - 109755
From the pic, the bike does not have a SLS front brake, Oil separator tower or early speedo bracket.
