Oil in Left side crankcase

This might be totally normal, but as I was cleaning out my oil filter I notice a good amount of oil standing in the bottom of the left side crank case. Is this normal or do I have a leak? About 3 of my screws are stripped so I'll have to get them off somehow to check this out if it is a problem. Thanks!

Left-side crankcase shares the sump oil to lube the primary chain/clutch system.

look up a helicoil thread insert kit. easy fix for your stripped bolt holes and you can use the same size bolt. If you didnt already know.

you have to order it with the right size of course.

I may be wrong but I think the heads of the screws are stripped not the threads. ........lm

you could be correct :) i assumed they might be turned in and stripped and hard to get back out, as mine where on my xr250. But yes, new bolts would be a nice easy fix eh?

With the original casing screws in place, an impact driver (with the correct size & type of bits -- Phillips 2pt for the side casing screws) and/or a Dremel are essential tools to have in your collection.
