just a quick HI

Hi all,

My name is Ed and i am restoring and old, probably '64, CB77.

Im a young chap 23, and I live in The Netherlands, im really into the oldtimers, as I also have a Yamaha XT500, a honda CB50, wich I drive daily, with 80cc has a motorcycle vin, and is going to get a 125cc twin engine when I have the time to do so, a Honda PC50 from 69, and also a car, an old '68 Plymouth Barracuda.
But strangly the car doesn't really bother me, I mostly live for the motorcycle's.

Here a few pics of the CB77 wich is going to be restored (or already is being..) , it has been stalled for 10years, but the prev. owner cranked the engine once in a while , and claimed he started it 2~3years ago, but did'nt drived on it.
The bike is good, but needed a lot of attention, all the brown stuff you see is grease, the owners knew he was going to park it for a long time, so he took good care of the bike and chrome and such, it all is conserved pretty good, and no big rust.







I already have a big project topic with much photo's, but it is in Dutch, so you probably can't read it LOL.
Anyway, you can see a lot of picture's wich you probably like.

Much progess is made, and know im up the the point where I have all the parts, and assembly is being started.

Hi,

I live in Huizen, Noord Holland. I lived for several years in Den Haag during my study.

This bike was for sale on marktplaats a time ago, wasn't it ?
I read you thread (www.4takt.net) I thinks you're almost finished with the bike, except for the engine internals, I guessed.

btw, 26 mm carburetors are standard for a CB77 (305 cc), and 22 mm carburetors are standard for the CB72 (250 cc).

Can you make a picture of your winker switch and winker relay, including the bracket ?

The bike looks great. I enjoyed going through all your progress photos. Looks like it's coming along nicely.

Jensen, I don't have winkers, nor a winker switch, only a switch for the starter, and the other switch is for the horn and hi-beam-low-beam.

So no winkers here, and im not planning to add winkers either, not needed for the LAW :P
And the less electric-crap the better. (ya, I really hate electrics)

And yes, this CB77 was for sale, about 10months ago orso, bought it in October last year if im correct.
The owner was an old race-guru and lost interest in this bike, or just didn't had the time/energy for it, he has many bike's and had to 'sweep' his place.
He moved, and lost a little space, this bike stood in an old small shed, and he was currently buiding/restoring a Norton Manx, so maybe he needed cash :P
But nah, he was around 60, and just had to much on his hands. He was hoping for 10years that one of his sons wanted the bike, but they refused, not interested.
He say'd he raced alot in the 70's , also on the Honda 6 (but crashed it!), and 3 CB77's he raced. And lot's of others.
Im guessing he raced this one aswell. But he promised me the engine was good, and for a guy like that (who obvisously loved his bikes) i believed him. So I didn't took the engine apart. So there is a small suprise for me !
He raced on the track with Jack Middelburg and some other hero's out of that time.
Man, he had story's to tell...
He was really happy that a young fellow like me picked up the bike, he said in 'the scene' (he still races some times with his old club) not many young people join or are to be seen. So he was happy that some rare young people still have tasted for good ol' things, haha !
