Hey Emo, Ya never did tell me if you were going to vote for Kinky. Steve Greer
Turbulators?
There IS, however, one performance enhancing device that fits in the manifold and DOES have a little scientific merit behind it. It's from the motocross side of the industry, but there is no reason it couldn't be adopted street side. It's called the "Powernow". All it is, is an insert that puts a thin, flat vane across the airstream, so that when you're throttle is at a partial opening, the flow behind the throttle slide has a sort of guide to prevent the normal low pressure vortex that's normally created behind the partially opened slide.(doesn't completely eliminate it, just reduces it.) This means you have a more laminar flow after the carb, which means faster flow. For bikes with high flow racing pipes, filters or velocity stacks, and bumped up jetting, this also means better throttle response and less stumbling coming off idle, which is typical when you increase the flow past what the carb was originally intended for. Now, mind you, this is from the racing arena, where small doses can make or brake a winning streak, so don't expect a shoulder displacing yank when you hit the throttle! It's not a supercharger!
Hmmmm, turbo 305.... AAAaahhh! Stop that! You already know what kind of road your'e headed down with thoughts like that! Cheaper to strap a couple a' rocket motors on the back, and probably a better effect! Just as smart too! Just a little fuel for your experiments in dissatitisfaction, Joe
