My CL77's rear sprocket nuts have holes in them for safety wire. Can one of you guys post a photo of how those were used and wired, please? I have never seen this on a production bike before.
Did Honda use the locking washers and the safety wiring? What was their logic?
Thanks,
Gordon

nuts
Gordon,
So far all I've seen is castellated nuts for cotter pins. If you don't have these nuts, a PO may have used a plain one exposing the holes. Safety wire would not accomplish a thing since the head sits in a molded pocket inside preventing a turning of the bolt. RW

Re: CL77 Scrambler Rear Sprocket Nuts
Without asking I suspect ya have the Small Brake wheels and although the nuts have been drilled we didn't/HONDA safety wire them. ..............lm

Yes, this is the 1965 - small brakes model. These are original - the ones I took off the bike and had plates plus the ones Nick sent me for the early model CL77. The holes are there and they only run through one of the flats - it's a safety wire nut, no doubt. I would like to know how it looked wired.
Loud Mouse, are you Ed Moore by chance? I just got in a very nice seal housing tool and 2 lock rings from you if so - thanks!
Thanks,
Gordon
