Honda Dream Rims

I'd like to build my own wheels for my Dream. I'm a little concerned about buying the rims advertised from Thailand on ebay. I think they are made by Union Cycle. Does anyone know of a good source for rims and spokes? Any idea what is a fair price for them? Also, has anyone tried to have their old rims re-chromed? I anticipate it may be a little pricey but perhaps they may be better quality than a cheap aftermarket?

as far as i know the union rims are the only new rims available. they can be made to work, the spoke angle is a little off.

CARL My local honda dealer still has a few nos dream rims but he won't let them go for less than $240 each. Kinda pricey but.... if interested let me know DONZIE

I just had my Dream rims rechromed here in Houston area for $175+tax each. They were pretty rough but came back sparkling!

Yup, I bought a set of the unions for mine and just laced them up. The spoke angles are definatly off, but its not a huge deal. Really I weighed the options, and for a $100 I got both rims and a complete spoke set, so I guess I can overlook them not being perfect.

In the meantime I had ordered the OE honda spokes already, and am not going to use them, if anyone needs them, let me know. My email is advantagecycle@aol.com

I caution ya to keep an eye on the spokes as they will/can flex due to the curve and loosen. ..............lm

What about alternate rims? I'm not looking to make a show quality bike; does anybody make affordable spoked rims in a size that will fit a CA77? Doesn't have to be OEM/duplicates...
