Thanks to everyone for the helpful info. I found the vin #. Is it typical that the engine # and frame # don't match or does that mean my motor has been replaced?
Thanks

matching numbers
i saw a very sweet CA77, this comment was made by the seller on matching numbers:
"matching frame and engine numbers (within 100 of each other – 1960’s Honda engine and frame numbers were usually within 200 of each other but did not match exactly)."
sounds reasonable... anybody know for fact? thanks

Re: matching numbers
I've never seen any data from Honda on this subject. I have seen bikes that were original with numbers that were close to 300 apart. ...........lm
