Dear LOUD MOUSE my good friend, Really enjoyed the conversation yesterday as always. As discussed the hairline crackmarks come from the dies used in the manufacture of the cases. With continual use and the continual temperature variation the dies end up with surface cracks thich then transpose onto the cast parts. No lack of quality on the part of Honda. It just shows that there was a large volume of parts that were produced with the dies meaning that the 250/305 bikes in their various guises were hugely popular and Jensen lets all just enjoy the build and the ride.
