Replacement Springs

Hello -- Is there any kind of modern 'fix' for the mechanical advance problem? Can you get replacement springs? I've ordered a new advance from Western Hills but Terry there didn't seem to indicate that there was a way to overcome the problem permanently. Mine seems to spring back when it's cold, but it gets stuck when it gets hot. Any suggestions?????
