Clutch Plates

Had a bit of a job this morning getting the gears to work, turned out it was the shift locator (behind the clutch slipping out of alignment again - cured that but....

I noticed that I have 5 friction plates - seems normal from what I've read, and there's a "5" stamped on the inside of the clutch outer, but there are also 5 metal plates which means that the outermost friction plate then has a metal plate outside it which faces up against the metal outer - is this correct? I remember my Yamaha only ever has friction plates against metal.

TH, first disc in should be metal, thicker than the rest. Like so M,F,M,F,M,F,M,F,M,F then the pressure plate. Sometimes you'll see 2 thin metals installed first.

Hmm, they're all the same thickness. Will have to see if it works when it runs, seems ok while testing it otherwise.
