CB77 Tires

Hi,

Front tyre is a Bridgestone BT45, 90/90, that means 81 mm high. It's a little higher then a 18/2.75.
Before I mounted the Bridgestones (around 100 euro front tire) I used Michelin M45, 18-2.75, these where two years ago 35 euro (front) and 41 euro (rear). So that means that michelins will set you back 76 euro (around 100 US dollar) and Bridgestone will set you back a massive 230 euro in total.

I used them both, and I'm willing to pay that 154 euro more for the Bridgestones, especialy in the wet or steep angling.

The BT45 is a real modern tyre, good in the wet etc., the M45 is a nice old tyre, probably made in china or another country in the far east (assuming)

The differences in size of the front tire (18/2.75 versus 90/90) are bigger on paper then in real life.

I did 14.000 km on the michelins and I changed them for BT45, wich have 8700 km on it. It seems that the dual compound construction is better for life expectancy, but that has to prove within the next year.

Yeah, really like the BT45's. Have been putting them on my street two strokes (RZ350, RD's) for the past few years. I think I got the best price at Motorcycle Accessory Warehouse, even with shipping they came ahead. The Avon Roadriders look interesting, I've only run Roadrunners on my Brit bikes.

Dennis K has IRC tires, model NR53 with modern looking thread. The front is 2.50x18 and the rear is 3.00x18. The front has a L speed rating of 75mph and the rear has a P speed rating of 93mph.

Eye, have you seen or tried these tires? It looks like they are under scooter tires, and I'm wondering if the are 2 or 4 ply?

Yes, you're right. Better for the 160 bikes (250 lbs). I would use the Avons which I have experience with. Some say they are heavy, though. For bigger bikes like the cb77, it should pose no problems.
