E ignition and timing problems

I run the electronic ignition on my 1962 CB77 - 21k miles. I set it up years ago, but recently, I went back and checked the timing.

It seems that all is not exactly as it should be: The left side gets to full advance, but the right side is a bit retarded.

Also, there seems to be some play in the metal sensor attached to the points cam. I can turn it back and forth a little with the engine at rest, which to me indicates there is some slop in the points cam.

I assume this has something to do with a worn advance unit, correct?

Any ideas? fixes?

Now let me guess, in order to replace those little springs, I have to pull out the camshaft...or can the springs be replaced with the spark advance in place and the top cover off?

Ya may be able to get to that area and replace the springs from the top.
Could be only one spring is bad.............lm
