i was thinking it would look pretty nifty putting some scrambler pipes on my superhawk. is there any reason this wouldn't work? i think the only real problem is finding scrambler pipes in the first place. if anyone is selling or knows where to get a set i would appreciate any info.
cheers.

Re: scrambler pipes on a superhawk?
This mod was 'the done thing' way back in '71. I had a couple of pals (brothers) who owned a CB72 & CB77 respectively; each had the high pipes, but I'm not sure that they were from CLs, as they exited down the r/h/s. No muffler, just mutes in the ends, similar to snuff-or-nots but fluted. I think they were marketed by John Oldfield of Southampton.cafe_crazer wrote:i was thinking it would look pretty nifty putting some scrambler pipes on my superhawk. is there any reason this wouldn't work? i think the only real problem is finding scrambler pipes in the first place. if anyone is selling or knows where to get a set i would appreciate any info.

I don't know if they fit easy, it would give a CB72 / 77 a nice scrambler look.
From a performance point of view is not and advantage, the bending radius is much smaller then the CB72 / 77 pipe, restricting the gas velocity, and the lenght of the bends are longer, restricting the flow (more resistance).
In other words : performance drops, especialy in higher revs.
