No Spark
No Spark
I have read all the other posts about no spark but none seemed to answer my question.
Put my 1966 305 Dream away last fall running fine. Last week got her out and no spark at the plugs.
Got out trusty test light. Blue/ black wire at front of coil staedy light. Green wire transversing top of coil no light unless cranking then it pulses. Ideas?

Thanks so much for the help here. Okay. New plugs. Cleaned points with #600 emery paper. Sprayed down with elictric contact cleaner. Cut 1/4 " off both plug wires and reinserted plug caps. Checked at wire with test light (-no light) before reinstalling plug caps Still have current to and from condensor, blue wire to coil, at points when open, pulsing green on coil when cranking. The only place with no current is at the plug wires. Grrrrhhh! Thoughts any one?

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Took everthing loose that was or could have been a ground contact. Cleaned surfaces and reattached. Didn't see any obvious problems but she fired right up. Now I need a throttle cable - grrr! At least now I know I need one and witout being able to start it i wouldn't have. So, thanks again. Maybe it's time to sell her.
