LoudMouse
I performed the oil test. I took a drop of dirty oil and let it sit for about an hour. It wiped off easily and didn't seem to penetrate. So hopefully this is the right stuff. The bag says glass beads. I think I remember one of your posts that said the sharp media sticks to your hands and the round media does not. Is this correct. The media I am using does not stick to my hands. As always I really appreciate the help. Now, what to do with the bottom casing?
Thanks
Trevor

Re: Questions? Help! Cleaning/Gasket/Masking etc
I've used Scotch-Brite™ General Purpose Hand Pad 7447 with great success. A little carb cleaner or degreaser helps with the scrubbing action. Here's a shot of me almost done scrubbing the gasket surface off. It was pretty gnarly before.

There is still some "clouding" on some of the surface areas but I can't feel anything when I run my hand over the area. I've been using gasket remover and a brush to remove the gasket. I'm guessing you're all going to tell me to put some more elbow grease into it:)
