Newbie - CL77 Engine Question

I was just followed home by a very bad CL77, whether it is a good basis for restoration is an open question. But, the first thing is that the engine is frozen. So, my first question, are the top end pieces specific to the CL77, or can I use CB77 parts interchangably?

Faust, I wouldn't even worry about interchange parts yet. Many times (not all) the frozen engine can be loosened up at least to a point where it can be torn down. Once that is done you can get a fair idea of what you will need to repair the beast. Possibly honing the cylinders and new rings are all you need. Or boring and oversize pistons and rings. If you can't tell I'm one that likes to keep the original parts together. No mix and match stuff ! Send us some pictures of your project,we like that stuff. Good Luck, Kustommusic

OK, here is a "clickable" image of the [project, as of its arrival this morning. I am more concerned by the lack of title (here, we need one back to the beginning of time) than the missing parts. It may become a "parts bike".

I think it will end up as a parts bike. I'm in Massachusetts. I think they have begun to frown on the title companies.

Where abouts in Massachusetts? I'm in Natick and I have a '67 CL77 that I restored (although not completely stock) a couple of years ago. If you click on my previous posts you can find a couple of pics of the bike.
