Paint/rust

I have just gotten a 1965 super hawk, and I have run into a snag. There is quite a bit of rust not only on the outside paint area, but there is rust inside of the gas tank itself. I am hoping that someone on here will answer this and give me some hope that I don't have to scrap it. Any advice is welcome!

Kreem restoration kit works great.I just did one and it's fairly easy, just follow instructions.Available on e-bay for around $30. Also your local cycle shop may stock it.

POR-15 a better choice than Kreem in my opinion. Have used POR-15 ... works great. Haven't used
Kreem but have read numerous times stories about it breaking down and peeling off. Never saw a
negative writeup on POR-15. dts

Another vote for por-15. I avoid kreem, as I've seen a couple tanks where it's peeled away. There is also a way to do it with a battery charger, and ph up spa treatment. Search this site or the web for that one, it actually works well, and costs almost nothing!

I was unaware of problems with Kreem.Go with Daves recommendation,he's been at it much, much longer than me.

So, just dump por-15 in the tank, let it sit, and then dump it out. Sounds to easy. Will it also take rust off the outer-sides, and if so, where can I get it?

Not even close! It's a lot of work. It won't do anything for the outside!Check out the por-15 website, ggogle it.
