thanks to this fine forum i have almost completed my 65 cb77. It is not pristene like some of you have the ability to do but i made a rider. With my limited budget i think i did fairly well. Especially with the deals i got on this forum for some parts, okie88, mikemullins, your parts were put to good use. I still need some basics, new footpeg rubber, new rear brake cable, tach and speedo cable but that is all cosmetic. Here is what i have so far and i went for the first legal ride today of about 20 miles....something about the feeling you get when you are on one of these!

Lookin' good!!! Move your kick starter about 2 teeth clockwise on the shaft. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually LIKE that bobbed front fender. A rider beats a 'monument' any day.

Very good looking rider. I'm in the same boat, as I don't really have the money or the desire to go for a full resto job that I would be worried about rideing around. And after seeing those race bikes at Barber last weekend that's more of what I'd really like anyhow. I'd rather make it mine. To me stock bikes look blaa after a while.

Really nice job -- I particularly like the '67 seat on it with that upturned lip, plus the Dunstall type mufflers and the Beston grips.

What are the tires you have on the bike?

I agree with okie's kickstart lever suggestion - I'm no expert but it 'should' be at about 2 o'clock.

Don't forget to ride it now.....

I think your bike looks awesome! I ride one like it but it is barn fresh. Rust, dents and all. The motor sounds like a ticking time bomb, but it really doesn't bother me. when I powershift it at 10,000 rpm I kinda wander if that will be the last time, but so far, it runs great. I used to be into street dragging old camaro's and I found the looser and noisier the engine, the better it runs. Actually, I have a completely rebuilt motor sitting on my shelf incase this one lets go. But these are a blast to ride, I put a set of crusty leather throw over bags on mine and ride it everywhere. I also made a 2 into 1 header pipe with a cigar muffler on it, so it is different than the norm. If I could figure out how to post a pic on here, I'd love to show it off. Keep up the good work! Nutt

that is the seat that was on it when i got it. as far as the mufflers, i am told by bill silver they are webco mufflers with the removable baffles., when i take out the baffles it really sound good! just for reference here is a before pic. i did not do anything to the motor but it runs great.
