I agree they do look good polished. Drive cover is natural cast. ..............lm

e3steve wrote:OK, bare alloy? Or was the final drive top cover painted? It's just that I've caught a few (Asian NOS) for sale and they're always naked. I got a NOS starter sprocket cover and that was painted. The tappet tops & maybe the cam chain tensioner were bare, but they do look good when polished.

getting ready to paint the side covers and fenders., are they supposed to be a base coat clear coat and shiny? i am going to use ppg 33283, that is what is available in my area that was reccomended. but my painter wanted to know if it is supposed to be dull type finish or base/clear.

getting a lot closer to the semi-finished bike. The tank was painted last week and i got the tank all back together and running, i had to take it for a spin w/ no fenders, or ummmmm liscense., and wouldnt you know it, around the block i went and when i turned left, there sat a state trooper looking right at me! i just went up the street, turned around and right back by and either he was busy w/ something else or he couldnt believe i just kept going and then back past him! back to the shop i went. Today the fenders and side covers were painted! have to wait a couple of days to put them back on and maybe get to ride it before it is too cold. I will post pics when i get it all back together. before and after.

Since I've yet to get mine running how i'd like, I too haven't licenced it, passed many cops on my rides to work or testing out the latest "fix". And I think in reality the cops back in utah just figure most people on bikes try to run because of increased speed and manueverability (they don't know how fast or slow the superhawks can go) so they'd rather not risk the resulting crash.

either that or they just like the cb77's :p
