Any tips on cleaning up the CB77?

Post by Spargett » Wed Jul 16, 2008 10:14 pm

I just picked up this 1962 CB77 after searching long and hard. The engine work is getting taken care of right now. But in addition to that, I'd like to get this thing looking beautiful. Any tips on cleaning up the engine and other chrome areas? As you'll see the front forks are chrome. I'm not exactly sure how I feel about that. I'm also wondering if anyone makes the piece of paper/plastic that is in the instrument panel. Mine is faded a grainy from over 45 years of sunlight.

I look forward to hearing back from you guys.

Cleaning up

Spargett,

Good looking CB there.

One of the guys in our Vintage MC CLub had a speedo face redone for his '65 Yamaha 305 by a place in Canada and it looks great.

If I remember right, there was a place that used to do Honda speedo and tach faces until Honda shut him down for copyright infringement.

I can get the info on where the Yamaha was done if you like.

Gary, that'd be great. I'd love their info. You can just email it to me, info(at)spargett.com.
