So I am nearing completion on my 66 CL77, one thing I noticed during disassembly is that the left side cover could not be removed while the exhaust pipes are in place. No big deal then, but now that I have to put it all together I am in a quandry as I need to leave the sidecovers/air filters off the bike while I test and tune the engine. Of course I need the exhaust pipe installed while tuning.
So my question is do I really need to take the pipes off after I run the engine just to install the sidecover/air filter? Or am I missing something. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Re: Sidecovers and exhaust pipe clearance
All you need to do is loosen the pipes and install the cover and air tube. .................lm
