ca77 regulator rectifier

Post by BCSANDERS » Thu Aug 18, 2011 5:57 am

Can you use the solid state modern rectifier on the Honda ca77?
I used one on my 1961 Triumph as it used a similar old type which was almost impossible to find and it works fine not sure about the Honda.

The short answer is yes. What type are you thinking though? All it needs is a real simple one like this.

I've been using the Radio Shack one for a couple years now with no problems.

Post by lifewithoutparole » Thu Aug 18, 2011 8:52 pm

I put one on my 67 S90 several years ago..worked great. Then bought my 67 CL77 in may and immeiately replaced the stock one with a solid state rectifier from the same guy who supplied the S90 one...oregon motorcycle parts...23.00 great quality and with the correct connector!

RetroBikes in Port Angeles Washington has a modern replacement rectifier that looks just like the original.
