Ok, thinking out loud...
So...
Honda says CB77 cylinder sleeves should be 60mm and my cylinder sleeves measure 60mm.
My wiseco brand piston rings are so new they smell like similac.
Honda says my piston ring gap size is obnoxiously out of standard..
Crap... Once again, I was looking at the wrong specs! That damn asterisk! CB77's can have a ring gap between .2 and .4mm. My max is .28mm
Squealing noise around stator and slow return to idles
On to my second problem, stripped upper case thread.
Apparently I may have torqued down on a bolt that wasn't meant for this hole, and I'm 99% sure it was too short.
You can see where it's stripped, but behind there's still some meat. Metal bits are getting in the way of being able to screw a bolt in, so, first, I'll grind down the edge of the thread with a Dremel, and if that doesn't work, I'll use the helicoil.
Hopefully the Dremel works; the helicoil kit was $30!

Crap, it was the beer because I screwed that all up...
.2-.4mm is not the same as .02-.04 inches.

Yep.
So what do you think about the huge piston ring gap? The old Pistons and rings functioned fine and they were about the same size gap..
