Test fitting the right hand side case cover today it seemed that the clutch lifter rod was sticking out too far and I could not push the cover one because of it. What is it that I may have done (in clutch assembly I assume) to cause this?

Clutch adjuster installed wrong in the side cover would be my first guess.Have a photo? How far out is the rod sticking?Did you have the clutch apart?

Yes, I did have the clutch apart. The rod sticks out past the gear 2 - 2.5 inches. I'll try to get a picture or two this evening.

I think I have it sorted, removed the clutch and reinstalled and it seems to work fine now.
Thanks
